Project Overview

We were appointed to deliver the complete electrical installation for Granville Gardens, a newly built 68-bed care home in Hinckley. Designed to provide residential, dementia, and nursing care, the facility required a modern and compliant electrical infrastructure to support both resident safety and operational efficiency.

Objectives

  • Deliver a full electrical installation covering all building systems.
  • Ensure compliance with BS 7671 and care sector regulations.
  • Integrate energy-efficient, safe, and future-proof solutions.
  • Complete works on time and within budget, coordinated with other M&E trades.

Scope of Works

  • Main LV distribution and sub-mains cabling.
  • Lighting and emergency lighting systems.
  • General power and small power circuits.
  • Addressable fire alarm system (L1).
  • Access control and door entry systems.
  • Data cabling and communication infrastructure.
  • Nurse call system integration.
  • CCTV and intruder alarm systems.
  • External lighting and power supplies.
  • EV charging provisions.

Project Challenges

Working within a fast-track construction programme required coordination with other M&E trades to ensure all systems were installed, tested, and commissioned within the agreed timeframe. Delivering a facility of this nature also demanded a strong emphasis on resident safety, energy efficiency, and system redundancy to meet strict care sector standards.

OUTCOME

The electrical installation was successfully delivered on schedule and to budget. Granville Gardens Care Home now benefits from a reliable, efficient, and fully compliant electrical infrastructure that enhances safety, comfort, and long-term maintainability, supporting the high standards expected in modern healthcare environments.
